After traveling and living in Mexico for many years these are a few of my best travel resources to make your trips as easy as possible!
You can use some of my very favorite resources to make sure your trip is as stress-free as possible!
Booking a Rental Car or Bus
Discover Cars – Discover Cars does comparisons for all vehicle suppliers to make sure you always get the best and lowest rate.
Busbud – Highly recommended. Wherever you’re traveling, you can easily compare bus tickets from different companies and book the best option for your next trip at the cheapest price.
Best Tour Companies for Women and Groups
Viator – Day tours can be so hard to find. Viator makes it easy, with excellent ratings and many different options.
Get Your Guide – Get Your Guide is a great platform to book tours in Mexico.
The Best Flight Search Engines
Wayaway – WayAway provides travelers with the best rates on airline tickets. And by booking your flight here you’ll get 10% off too! You can also purchase the WayAway Plus membership plan, which gives cashback on flights, accommodation, car rentals, tours, and more.
Aviasales – Aviasales is a great service for buying cheap flight tickets. There are no extra fees or markups and only the lowest possible rates from reliable agencies.
Finding Cheap Flights and Hotels
Google Flights – Google Flights is an easy way to compare flights from a variety of carriers. I love price graph and date graph which makes it easy to check by price.
Skyscanner – Skyscanner is one of the best ways for finding cheap flights. The easiest way to let it tell you when to travel and what countries are cheapest to visit.
Booking.com – The largest collection of every hotel you’re ever going to need is on booking.com . Whenever I know the area I want to stay I use booking to give me the most competitive price.
Priority Pass – Inclusive (affordable to all) and exclusively for those who value a little piece of civilization on their journey.
Tripadvisor – Browsing experiences and hotels? Head to Tripadvisor! They help me find the best experiences and hotels in places that I don’t know.
Travel Safety Essentials
Hidden Pocket Scarf – A pretty cool fashion item that also protects you from pickpockets.
Money Belt – Your passport and money are always vulnerable while traveling. You can use this super-handy moneybelt to keep your valuables close!
Visitors Coverage Insurance – VisitorsCoverage provides travel insurance for millions of global travelers in over 175 countries.
Packing Essentials
Borealis Backpack -This backpack will stand up to the elements whether hiking high up in the mountains or going out into nature to explore Mother nature’s beauty!
Apple AirPods. These wireless earbuds connect seamlessly and offer up 4 hours of playback on one charge! They’re great for long plane rides.
Universal travel adapter is cheap, you can charge up to 6 devices, and it protects your mobile, tablet, e-book, and other electronics from overheating.
Portable Power Bank – is an essential item to have while traveling, especially if you’re going somewhere where electricity may not be accessible or present in abundance.
Travel pillows are all the rage when it comes to traveling. They come in many shapes and sizes, but they do one thing – provide comfort for your head!
Travel mug – is a perfect way to keep your drink hot or cold for hours. You can take it anywhere without worrying about spilling coffee on your clothes (and I always have to worry about that!)
ENOhammock – The Enohammocks are the most versatile hammock there is. They are light and small and can be set up anywhere there are a couple of trees.
Phones and Internet Abroad
Mexican Sim Card – Simply turn off your phone when you arrive in Mexico and replace it with the new card before turning back on again!
Making New Friends
MeetUp – A great way to meet people when traveling. It’s free to join. Also, check out local Facebook groups for the area you’re going to.
